Summary: Simply The Best
May 2nd, 2004
Winner of the Amusement Today and Park World Magazine's best steel coaster award and deserving of it. Non-stop excitement from start to finish. Combines the very best of and out-and-back with the twister elements, high speed turns and 2 tunnels. There simply currently is nothing better.

Summary: Awesome....

That is explains the whole ride. The speed never ends and the airtime is amazing. I really wish the park was closer so I could be on this ride all the time. Everything about the ride is excellent.

My only complaint is that the ride ops are slow, and that there is line jumping, which resulted in a very large fight when I was in line.

Summary: Nearly Flawless
August 23rd, 2003
Superman: Ride of Steel definitlely exceeded my expectations. Almost everything about this ride is perfect, including the first drop, hills, and twisted second half.

The airtime on this ride is unbelievable... you get ejected out of your seat on almost every hill. Also, the ride's overbank actually offers some impressive forces.

My only complaints are that the queue is not shaded and the ride ops are slow.

This ride alone makes the trip to Six Flags New England well worth it. Highly recommended.

Summary: best coaster, period!
August 20th, 2003
My first trip to SFNE. Went on the Thunderbolt wooden (never been on a rollercoaster before!), was ok.

Then went on Superman Ride of Steel (this was my second ride on a coaster...)

Now that KICKS a$$, the drop is mind bending, the ride is filled with thrills are around every bend and twist that this coaster can give... remember to make a happy face as you come past the entrance for the photo!

I can now understand why this has been voted best coaster in the world, 4 years running... no inversions (who needs those...), just one heck of a ride, so much so throughout the day, we went on Superman:ROS 5 times (gotta love that q-bot!)

After Superman, went on Batman, found that to be boring, so much so we went straight back to Superman:ROS, it's just that good of a ride, worth every second of the hang time that this rides gives you!

It's a scarey ride from the initial climb (you over look the river beside the park) to that gravity defying drop to the tunnel of smoke in the ground... and that's just the first few seconds... from there, it's have the ride of your life!

One very happy Superman coaster fan.

Summary: Best ROS anywhere
July 10th, 2003
Of all the Superman ROS's, this one in New England is by far the best! Stretching almost the entire length of the park, ROS sits along the Connecticut River on the site of the former Riverside Raceway. The lift gives a beautiful view of the river on the left and the entire park on the right (and below), but once at the top, all bets are off for beautiful views. The speed pushes your eyes into the back of your head, and not once does it slow down. The mist-filled tunnel at the end of the first drop (along with the VERY unexpected second tunnel), add a measure of disorientation. The coolest feature, besides the LONG and intense airtime, is the row of camelbacks after the first turn, as the coaster is racing back into itself. Squeezed between The lift hill and several buildings (one is the Daily Planet Gift Shop, maybe? I don't remember), these camelbacks sail over the queue line and into an intense helix, only to throw riders into another helix and a series of bunny hops. Like I said, best ROS of them all.

Summary: Airtime Galore
April 19th, 2003
This is a great ride...I had the oppourtunity to ride it last august. It has a great drop, and TONS of airtime...it just never lets up throughout the whole ride. It actually stretches frm one side of the park to the other. I was also amazed with the line being completely full and taking no more than 30 mins to get on! Great ride... (15 secs+ of airtime i believe)
