Summary: Awsome Ride
May 26th, 2004
This was my first "flying dutchmen" style coaster that ive been on, for those of you who do not know what flying dutchmen means it means that the ride is ridden in a prone postion. n e way this ride is a great ride although it only has 2 inversons it is a great ride and definitly worth the wait. the pretezel loop which is the first inverson on the ride is an awsome way to get the riders atteniton and let them kno who is in control when you go into it, its great because it feels like the ride is slowing down and before u kno it ur on ur back and they snap your picture its quite an awsome ride and i recomend it to n e one who loves roller coasters.

Summary: Good job B+M!
May 30th, 2003
This was my first flyer, and I thought that it was an excellent ride! The pretzel loop inversion was the most intense I have ever been on. The line goes very slow, and is deciveing when you first enter it. It is well worth the wait though. This is now one of my favorite coasters. You have to ride it!

Summary: A totally new sensation!
April 27th, 2003
First off, I should mention that if you go into this ride expecting a thrill machine, you WILL be dissapointed. However, if you want to experience a flying sensation spiked with a powerful surge of G's, you'll love this.

The fun of the ride stems from the flying position. Naturally, I'll detail what it's like to ride on these new trains. The restraints are completely different from your standard B&M stock. There's a Intamin-style lapbar object that comes down, attached to two metal bars that serve as grips for those that want to hold on. What actually holds you in is a very flexible piece of rubber/foam that bends over your chest. When you pull this whole assembly into place, your feet are locked in. It's really quite comfortable and unobstrusive. The sensation of being pulled into the flying position is almost worth the wait itself. The lift hill grants you a great view of most of the park, but, unlike Nitro, the lift hill's views are fleeting. You dive into the pretzel loop, which, in the back row at least, is absolutely incredible. Tamed or not, I can't imagine a better element than that. Contrary to most, I really enjoyed the slow sweeping turns. They give a great sensation of flight. All in all, Superman was a fantastic, relaxing coaster, unlike anything else at Great Adventure. It definately springboarded into my list of favorites.
