Can you say air-time ! One of the best at that (tied with Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia). It is also one of the most appealing coasters to look at. It is right by the water, the track goes back under itself, and it even has a great paint job. It is in the Italy area of the park, but the ride itself has no real themeing. Great thrills though. I love that last bunny hop right before returning to the station.

With a height of only 170 ft this coaster drops a lot onger than that. Being a hyper coaster, it mainly consists of large hills to give the rider airtime. This ride doesn't dissapoint.

Summary: Apollo - God of Airtime

Can words describe this ride? The airtime on this thing is obscene, but that alone doesn't make the Chariot what it is - pure uncut coaster euphoria. Nine total drops, two of them diving drops and a nearly 90-degree helix. The diving drops are nuts, especially the 144ft tall one taken in the far back left seat - my favorite seat. At the bottom of the dive, if taken in the far left seat, it looks like you can reach down and touch the ground. While the coaster flies around the helix at breakneck speeds, if you sit in the far right seat, leaning outwards provides an awesome feeling of being sucked right out of the train. Regardless of which seat you choose, the low-to-the-ground banked turn and the helix provide an amazing sense of speed and some awesome Gs. I also like the fact that the back seats are THROWN down the first drop, thanks to B+Ms signature pre-drop.

There are two trims on this ride, each before one of the diving drops. I feel the trims did NOTHING to ruin the ride, but I wouldn't doubt the fact that the ride would be even better without them.

With an excellent setting and great airtime, Apollo's chariot earns the spot of my #1 coaster. The trains were great, the ride was great, and the overall experience was great. The only thing really lacking was theme, but the great scenery mostly made up for that.

This ride gives you a great view of the park, and amzing amazing airtime. You will leave your stomach at the top of the first drop. You will ride this over and over again. Great to dry you off after Escape From Pompeii.
