Summary: Great Woodie
October 16th, 2005
This, overall, is a pretty good coaster. Plenty of drops and hills, and boy is the helix over the lifthill good. The ride itself is great! The wait, though, isn't the best and there's no themeing that I could see. (Its a Sixflags ride, what do you expect?) This ride is great, but its outclassed by others.

Summary: A little bumpy
July 24th, 2005
A very good roller coaster, but not a ride to ride over and over again. Six Flags over Texas does a great job on making this wooden roller coaster has smooth was it can, but is very shaky and bumpy in some degrees. The first drop is pretty cool. The Beast and Son of the beast are the best wooden ones, but the Giant is nothing to be ashamed about. Very good ride.

Summary: Fun From the Front
July 3rd, 2003
Texas Giant is like almost all other wooden coasters in the fact that if you get a smooth train, it's awesome, but if you get a rough train, it's a bad experience.

The queue (like most of them at SFoT) is long. Even when the ride is a walkon, you still have to do quite a bit of running just to get to the station. However, most of the queue is covered and there are no switchbacks.

The ride itself has dozens of intense turns and steep drops. The double helix provides the lateral G's you expect from a great wooden coaster. The last third of the ride has a few small hills with the only airtime of the ride, giving a great finale.
