Lightning Racer

It's not the best wooden coaster, but it is the best RACING (/dueling) coaster. I also think that you should ignore the guy who gave this a bad review. The Dueling Dragons are good, but Lightning Racer is a much better WOODEN coaster than it's competition. The Dragons is a good racing/dueling MEDAL ride, but then again, I don't know of any other dueling medal coasters. Anyway, Racer never lets up and it's very smooth for a wooden. Too bad that the same side usually "wins" 80% of the time. Great Coasters International did it again !

This ride has amazing turns, and lots of airtime. Your racing then dueling, then racing and back and forth. It has one of the most beautiful stations I have ever seen. While in line it shows videos of the ride which is great, and I never waited long for this ride.

This is one of the greatest woodies I have ever been on, period. Epic airtime moments and some awesome dueling moments, such as the intertwined bunny hills at the end right before the turn-around.



Ignore the Dueling Dragons fanboy up ^there^. He has no clue what he is talking about. Ride this coaster.

This ride blew me away. Prior to riding this, the only other GCI coaster I had ridden was Gwazi. This was nothing like Gwazi, it blew Gwazi out of the water. The racing experience kept the excitment going throughout the whole course and the ride itself provided great airtime. It could have had some more twister segments, but Wildcat took care of that need at Hershey

^Ignore that review. Unless you hate all wooden coasters, as I expect he does, you'll love this ride! It has plenty of exciting twists and turns and it crosses itself many times! Plus, The 2 sides makes the queue go twice as fast!

I thought this was an extremely poor dueling/racing coaster. If you want a REAL coaster at a REAL amusement park head down to Islands of Adventure and try Dueling Dragons...definately worth the trip...be sure to get the front seat.

No dueling or racing wooden coaster competes with this one. It is that good. The coasters near misses would be enough, but they are also racing. On top of that there is very low queue time and old school theming, which puts this coaster over the top. If you go to HersheyPark, go straight to Lightning Racer.

Lightning Racer is an excellet wooden coaster with plenty of action. The speed keeps up pretty good and the action never stops! Extra points go to the amazing queue building! Incredible!

This by far is the best wooden coaster. It has airtime, near misses as is duels and races. It has everything it takes to be the best. The themeing for the station recalls a period in the 1920's, which adds to the effect. This GCI is their only dueler/racer, and it is the best. Good job Hersheypark!
