Summary: Ouch!

The ride has a good design. Thats about the bes you can say about this ride. It's jerky, rough, and not worth a wait more than 20 minutes.

Summary: Mega Looper- FOR SURE!
April 1st, 2005
With a total of seven inversions (3 loops, one boomerang and 2 corkscrews), this mega-maniac-machine packs a PUNCH! I mean an UPPERCUT right to the jaw... This ride is a terrific coaster for looping fans. Love it...

Summary: Getting Old
December 22nd, 2004
Viper was probably the best ride ever made when it open but now it's getting overshadowed by X, Goliath, Deja Vu, and Riddler's Revenge. Viper is rough if you don't keep your head against the headrest. If the line is long, skip it. If it's 15 minutes or under queue, then you can ride it if you want. Just make sure you get on all the newer bigger rides before this.

Summary: Still Packs It!
June 6th, 2004
I rode this shortly after it first opened and it has not changed very much since. Except the wait is not nearly as long. It is still a bit rough but a lot of fun none the less. Before they built HH they used to have the lake and they would shine a green laser at night from the lake through viper's first loop. That was awesome to see as you went through the first loop. Wish they would put that back.

Summary: What A Drop!!!!!
December 26th, 2003
Always the first coaster you see going to six flags and still a favorite. This coaster has it all and what a drop...If you are not sitting in the front then the drop is invisible for about half the drop. A must ride to anyone going to six flags magic mountain!!!

Summary: Still a thrill.
June 2nd, 2003
Viper is still a great ride, though overshadowed by Goliath and Superman and X. The first thing you used to see coming up the 5 freeway was the Viper! And it is still impressive going up the lift hill to 188 feet and looking down at the rest of the park. The first loop after the drop is fun, as you climb up 100 feet or so to go through it, which is rare. You go upside down 7 times, so this ride packs a punch. It is a little rough, but nothing I can't handle. The speed going through the corkscrews are moderate, so you really feel the forces at work. I like this. Viper is one you don't want to miss.

Summary: Nice Ride!
April 22nd, 2003
Magic Mountain's "Viper" was a pretty cool ride. I hyped it up a little too much though, but it still thrilled me. The restraints without lapbars really added to the scariness, and unfortunately, roughness was present. "Viper" is the tallest and fastest sit-down steel looper, but I would've never guessed. Still, it was a coaster you might want to catch.

Overall, a nice ride! GRADE: C+

Summary: Still a Great Coaster
April 12th, 2003
Viper was proabably SFMM's best coaster before Riddler's Revenge and Superman:TE were added. Yes, I like it better than Batman: TR. What makes this coaster good is the layout, and order of the elements. I wish I could compare it to the other Arrow coaster like it, but I haven't ridden any of them. The first loop is one of the best I have ever experienced on any roller coaster, and you can't beat the double corkscrew, because of how slow you go through it which makes it that much better. If you can get past the roughness in a few places and leave with out bleeding ears, then you will love this ride.
