transformed into Six Flags New Orleans

Six Flags today announced the transformation of Jazzland into Six Flags New
Orleans. Construction has already begun on the park, which will feature
nearly $20 million in capital improvements. Two new roller coasters are
expected to open for the 2003 season including a clone of Batman: The Ride and
an unknown coaster (rumored to be Joker's Revenge from Six Flags Fiesta Texas)

Six
Flags Magic Mountain announces Scream!

The Xtreme Park has announced the construction of Scream!, Southern
California's first floorless roller coaster. Scream! will stand 150-feet
in the air and take riders flying through its 3,985-foot circuit at speeds of
65 MPH. The three-minute flight will feature a 128-foot vertical loop, a
96-foot dive loop immediately followed by a zero-g roll, a 78-foot Cobra Roll,
high speed helix, and interlocking corkscrews. The park's 16th coaster
is scheduled to debut in Spring 2003. Click here

Six
Flags releases results for third quarter of 2002

Six Flags has released the results for the third quarter and first nine months
of 2002. For the first nine months, revenue was down .9% over last year,
mostly due to a 7.1% decrease in attendance. Revenues in the third
quarter were down 2.4% over last year, while attendance was down 7.2%.
The company plans to spend $125 million in improvements next year, which
includes major attractions at each of their four largest parks. Click here

Flags Over Texas announces 2003 additions

Six Flags Over Texas unveiled plans Tuesday for an S&S tower that will
surpass the signature Oil Derrick as the tallest structure in the 41-year-old
park. Superman Tower of Power will stand 315-feet in the air and used
compressed air to launch passengers up one of three towers. Once at the
top, riders will be rocketed downward, reaching speeds of 50 mph. Click here

Tornado being dismantled

Six Flags Astroworld has begun dismantling Texas Tornado, a classic
Schwarzkopf looping coaster featuring four nearly perfectly circular
loops. The ride, formally named "Thriller", was original built

Fair announces 2002 third quarter results

Cedar Fair, L.P., the owner and operator of six amusement parks and five water
parks, today announced results for the third quarter and first nine months of
2002. While revenues for the first nine months were up 4%, revenues for

Movie
theme park to be built in Japan

Viacom Inc, owner of Paramount Pictures, plans to build a movie theme park in
Fukuoka, Japan. The theme park, which Viacom hopes to have open by 2005,
is expected to bring in approximately 5 million visitors per year. The
total investment in the project is estimated at about $1.22 billion.
